@anthropy@mastodon.derg.nz @madthumbs@lemmy.world well it wasn't a troll, but more of a clarification. Again, I wish MadThumbs all the best and that his healing journey comes sometime soon.
But also, security through obscurity has been thoroughly debunked many times over and is something we should dispel to rid ourselves of the Silicon Valley monopolies, duopolies, monopsonies and oligopolies.
It's a matter of sovereignty and free market - believe it or not.

@hopland@snabelen.no with 'great troll' I meant the image rather than your clarification. Using properly configured distros is entirely fair, Fedora is more secure than Arch on a lot of points- but especially the 'windows/mac' thing is just an obvious joke, even mac is way more secure than windows, they're clearly either unserious or unworthy of detailed debunking.
