@syhr@mastodon.art something to eat or something pretty? Hydrangeas love shade. If it was mine, I’d plant lettuce or perpetual spinach; mine always bolts in sun. If it’s damp, wild garlic and winter purslane for winter/spring. If it’s warm, a fig? Or try potatoes? Celery? Or some herbs - mint, chives? Dill if you don’t have too many slugs/snails. The planter might be better under the window to be in sun for longer, but mind your inspection cover. Similarly, worms might be happier on the left?

    @natz_b@mastodon.social All good suggestions! One thing I forgot to mention is we do get a lot of slugs, but possibly spraying the weeds with salt as someone else suggested could deter them on the whole?
