I have been observing the #SailfishOS and @jolla@techhub.social community for some weeks. It is "interesting" how they are treating newcomers [1,2]. There are way more examples, but well, character limits🤷
This is the textbook definition of gatekeeping. What they should do instead is to create a hashtag or something, so that new-comers tag themselves and gray-beards with zero tolerance can block that hashtag. Instead it is turning into reverse trolling.

@Mehrad@fosstodon.org @jolla@techhub.social I think generally the forum is very friendly place. But for me unknown reasons some old timers have to comment unfriendly for recurring topics when they are irritated. I agree that it is irritating to see same topics often, but hey that is the nature of community forums. People come at different points of time and can put X amount effort to study the subject beforehand. If post irritates people, they should ignore it imo. Of course some new comers have been rude too.
