This isn't to say that *all* such tools are *completely* rubbish, far from it!
They mostly appear to be bad at making the task of maintaining reasonably large bodies of documentation painless for small amounts of maintainer hours.
Which predominantly means having multiple disparate sources of documentation, pulling them together, and building/updating multiple different artifacts out of them.
Such as a static website that links docs together.
For each *individual* documentation task,...

@jens@social.finkhaeuser.de Erinnert mich daran, was mir jemand über ffmpeg schrieb: Ist eine eierlegende Wollmilchsau für Audio und Video, wenn man die richtigen Parameter kennt – die aber nicht alle in der manpage stehen bzw. die zwar vielleicht drinstehen, aber so, daß man sie nicht versteht.
