Chigo-mochi (稚児餅) is a skewered rice cake with a sweet and slightly salty miso filling. It's finished with a sparkling coat of 'koori mochi' (氷餅 - freeze dried mochi).
The icy appearance and hint of salt make this a perfect snack for combating the relentless Kyōto heat.

💧SHITATARI😋 From July 13th-16th, in anticipation of the festival's first parade, the Kikusui-boko (菊水鉾) hosts a series of large tea gatherings. The highlight of this event is Kamehironaga's (亀廣永) 'shitatari' (したたり), a sweet popularly eaten around this time. #したたり
