@ignaloidas@not.acu.lt although it's not MPEG that does it, it's MPEG LA, which is apparently a separate entity

@wolf480pl@mstdn.io while MPEG as an entity might not be explicitly trying to get money from patents, the members working on MPEG standards do seem to try to fit patents they own into the standards when they are getting defined.
