Thinking I’m gonna buy myself some shorts. And wear ‘em.
I have extensive self harm scars on my legs and my left calf is deformed from having muscle removed as a result. Back in the day, I was in danger of losing that leg and an arm; the work to salvage them wasn’t done with aesthetics in mind.
It’s only this year that I’ve shown my arms, and had tattoos to kinda celebrate their ‘unveiling’.
Uncovering my legs seem like a good next step, but… 1/2

… I haven’t shaved my pins in years. The skin was, for many years, far too delicate and oddly shaped to safely navigate. Besides, more importantly, my leg hair has never bothered *me*. I quite like it. It’s natural. I fancy my leg hair over many men’s. But I do feel that it’s still a big social taboo for a woman to display hairy legs, and I don’t see enough leg-haired trailblazers to feel comfy. So, scars = fine, leg hair = has to go. But yeah, I’ll be doing shorts 🩳
