#gardening #GrowYourOwn #tomatoes First tomatoes of the year! These are Stulpice, an ultra-early variety that used to be the only one I could reliably grow in our previously cool coastal PNW summers. Now, its about a week or so ahead of the other heirloom varieties.

#gardening #GrowYourOwn #tomatoes Next variety to ripen are the Costoluto Fiorentino. A medium-sized ribbed, relatively early, heirloom. We eat them fresh, but use them for roasting later in the season when the later heirlooms come in.

@memerman@mstdn.science Nice! I grew it for awhile but quit because it’s small size and I couldn’t achieve real good flavor. But here I am, 2-3 weeks away from fresh garden tomatoes!
