@patcharcana@furry.engineer always do frequent incremental backups and save yourself time - i think you need fast enough processor so it happens transparently #furry landing strip

    @gary_alderson@infosec.exchange Yeah, there's a daily job that runs a restic backup against most of the parts of that host that actually matter. But for reasons that rhyme with "environment built out of a stack of hacks taller than Shaq himself", that doesn't protect the contents of the docker volumes that host the databases that back the wikis. The compromise there is to just take a new backup of the entire DB once a month and throw the oldest out. Keeps my cloud storage costs reasonable and, for the amount of "change per day" these things experience, it's probably sufficient.
