It's probably about time for an #Introduction. I'm Alex, I used to teach physics but now I work in finance. Long story.
I have two cats who are brothers. I adopted them 13 years ago from a shelter when they were tiny, scrawny kittens. Both have health problems they are on medication for. I'm not on good terms with my family except for one sister who lives quite far away, so my cats have been my only family sometimes.
I am currently at #EMFCamp, and have been on site since last Wednesday as part of the site team. I help with crew food and dishes, dabble with plumbing and construction, and move things around site with a telehandler.
It's amazing being here, but I really miss my cats.

This is Merlin. He is made of drama, snuggles and loose fur. He has one miaow, designated General Distressed Miaow Number 1, but many different purrs. He has arthritis and a heart condition. He likes cat bells, pens, bits of paper, corks and attention. He is mostly very grouchy, but will happily play catch, be brushed or watch Doctor Who with me.
