@Fishd@infosec.exchange It all kinda went to shit when they were taken over by Halewood, subsequently laying off most their staff including the brewers themselves (rumour is they had to take some back on as nobody left knew the recipes). Anyway they closed up shop there blaming parking charges and moved out. They then sat on the lease which they could have done for another 20 years, until the Millyard owner apparently forced their hand to release it as he wanted a pub on site. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cn7l0585v11o

    @Fishd@infosec.exchange The new place has some good beers on (no Hawkshead, obv!) and More and Wilf's each still seem to be doing ok but are undeniably quieter. I don't think so many folk park there to go off and ride/walk as used to. The Mill Yard used to be used as a park and ride place for those with free bus passes to get to Windermere. I can see why that pissed off the yard owner and the businesses there too.
