@itgrrl@infosec.exchange I heard some mumbling that the OG NBN FTTP NTU battery backup units were now “unsupported” - I wonder if they’ve been forcibly disabled?
Also, when is the last time you changed the battery in it? They’re only usually good for 3-5 years.

@jpm@aus.social if a battery backup has been disabled without telling the service owner then someone’s in for a paddlin’ 💁♀️ I def need to test the battery & add an annual test to my house tech management protocols

@jpm@aus.social @itgrrl@infosec.exchange nbn have not supplied new BBU's for several years, and they're outright removed if you move to a 2nd gen NTD since they're not compatible with the new barrel jack that they use. Haven't heard any wind about them being forcibly disabled, and that would cause nbn WAY TOO MANY headaches. 🙂
