Soup is underway. Currently trying to bring a vast stockpot to the boil.
Incidentally, if you're one of those strange people with no understanding of bayleaves, boil one or two and inhale the scent. That's what bayleaves add to things.

Soup is now fully assembled. It just needs a long simmer to finish the job. Mixed feelings about this; I gave it a stir and pulled a muscle in my back. Life is peril.
