@miki_lou@mastodon.social Legislation and grants just encourage us to do what you think is Important. We can just do it on our own. The leadership is important and pays far greater dividends when focused on encouraging/enabling markets generating more GHG's than Canada. And,yes image is important. But, pipelines add nothing to the environmental debt from Canada. Provinces like Alberta are missing the energy transition by excluding and discouraging renewables. But we can, individually, overcome that. And many are. I see as many e-vehicles in Edmonton as I did in Victoria. At one point they were 14% of total Canada sales and rising. But then, Trump. The big issue seems to be the acknowledgment that we will not meet our Paris commitments. We never were. This government just lets us know.

    @CTHW@mstdn.ca Yes, lots of us are transitioning away from fossil fuels and will continue work on building sustainable local communities. Perhaps Canada was never going to fulfill its Paris commitments but insane subsidies and buying pipelines that result in triple or double tar sands production, is just pure madness.
