@nedbat@hachyderm.io I have many thoughts about this: 1. I fully agree with you that this is not at all persuasive as an argument. 2. I spend an absolutely inordinate amount of time making more serious, considered, balanced arguments. If anyone reading along at home has not yet seen https://blog.glyph.im/tag/ai.html I'd encourage them to go there to get something more thoughtful. 🧵

@nedbat@hachyderm.io 3.While this is not a persuasive *argument*, it is nevertheless a useful *experience* to be aware of. Many people disgusted by AI are quietly leaving without saying anything, tired of being shouted down by the torrent of propaganda. There's an impression among boosters that the resistance to AI is both tepid and minor, as opposed to being intense and widespread, and not everything about the resistance is rational or accurate but it is nevertheless useful to be aware that it exists.
