Many people disgusted by AI are quietly leaving without saying anything, tired of being shouted down by the torrent of propaganda. There's an impression among boosters that the resistance to AI is both tepid and minor, as opposed to being intense and widespread, and not everything about the resistance is rational or accurate but it is nevertheless useful to be aware that it exists.

    @nedbat@hachyderm.io I do not personally *agree* with Michał's view here, but I really really wish that more people in the Python community would ask themselves why someone would feel like this, even if they're wrong. This is not some rando who is mad about AI pictures slop on deviantart and assumes that code must be the same by analogy, this is a distro maintainer with a decade+ of experience who is very visibly and publicly burning out ostensibly due to this technology.
