Watching the takes on this platform try out cruel, deficit, sneering narratives isn't going to lead to any solution. Sitting with people and listening to their lives and choices could, possibly, lead to something that isn't just rejection of the tough intersections we don't want to admit.

Even if the goal is "only" comfort, "only" validation, framing this as a techbro sycophantic need when it's a fifty year old woman with chemo-acquired neuropathy just sucks, man. It sucks to look at all of that and say someone is stupid and bad for hurting in a system that truly doesn't give a shit.
