Even if the goal is "only" comfort, "only" validation, framing this as a techbro sycophantic need when it's a fifty year old woman with chemo-acquired neuropathy just sucks, man. It sucks to look at all of that and say someone is stupid and bad for hurting in a system that truly doesn't give a shit.

Feeling validated keeps you alive. Keeps you going. Might nudge you to raise it in a doctor's appointment because you were told yeah this is real and it matters. This is my issue with takes on AI entirely out of context. Context (for both humans and models) changes the information.
