There’s a possibility I could finish draft one of The Novel today. I have a vague sense of what I need to do in the last chapter but I also have one more character to write a personal scene for and I’m not sure what to do for them. Not being vague. The character is an enby.

I set myself up for an editing nightmare early in the story. When using the word 'grey,' I use the "British" spelling with the vowel being an 'e' instead of an 'a' (which is more typical in American English. You can remember that easily by saying E is for England and A is for America. It's one of my bugbears that I use e in grey. The editing challenge is that I have a character named Allison Gray. I have my chapters in separate files so I can grep -E "[Gg]ray" ch_*.md to confirm whether there are mistakes on one end and then use the same (but putting the e in place of the a) on the other end. (Careful observers will realize there's probably an easier way to do the grep but looking it up would be as distracting as writing this post is.) It appears I haven't made any mistakes yet. Or I caught them earlier.
