@Paws2Spindle@sunny.garden I was talking less about the yarn counter and more about the cone winder - *thats* what I want, and I don’t understand why there’s not manual versions
I swear I’m about to create an attachment to my bobbin winder so I can at least put yarn on cones *somehow* without taking up more plugs.

I guess the problem with cone winders is that to get a nice even distribution across the angled surface, you need some sort of mechanism that's a bit more complicated than a ball or bobbin winder, and once you've engineered that, adding a motor is a minor cost. (Also, when you said "bobbin winder" in your original post, I confused that with skein winder, which is a very different thing! Sorry for the added confusion.)
