I ordered a dynamo headlight for my bike to replace the chintzy incandescent unit, and some 6-30VAC LED drop-in replacement bulbs for the tail light (hope they work, I'll have to find 3-n VAC bulbs if they don't work at low speeds, or wire in a capacitor), and a couple amber side lights, with some catsitting proceeds. it's only once in a while that catsitting involves riding my bike at night, but my current situation - dim incandescent dynamo system, 1x AA flashlight up front and 1x AAA blinky on backpack - is not up to the task of riding in a city with mildy crappy roads. plus it will be nice to have the option to take my bike out at night for any reason without worrying about it. I am however very paranoid about it being stolen because I can't afford to replace it. I need to make it look older and more grungy... I need to get a bunch of free stickers and some duct tape and such.
