Trainer asked me to get some heavy bruising checked out by the NHS doctors. NHS got me in quickly, even on Sunday. Immediate blood tests. Saw the doctor quickly, then we just had to await the results of the test. Bad news - I failed the blood test. How thick am I? 😂 Majority of Blood/liver levels were fine, but platelets lower than they should be, and apparently the platelets themselves are ‘damaged’. I knew they wouldn’t be great, since they caused an illness (Ideopathic Thrombocytopenia) about 30+ years ago that resulted in me parting ways with an engorged spleen. They told me to cut back on contact sports, to be safe, and maybe live longer. Ouch. I have mentioned how much I dislike running and other aerobic style exercise owing to boredom, but it looks like that’s where I’m heading. Bah. #nhs #sports #exercise #blooddisorders #bruising
