The new sidebar in Golden Gate is not something that I expected to dislike.
When Apple released Tahoe last year, the sidebar seemed to be a waste of space. But it matched Liquid Glass design well.
Now in Golden Gate the toolbar items are very much "elevated" (thanks to Liquid Glass) while the sidebar is flat. There is a bit of a disconnect now.
