I hear stories like that and I completely understand the aversion to corporal punishment. I was never hit in the face, always spanked with a spoon or open palm, and it was never the first resort. I also was shown incredible amounts of love, had time spent with me by both my mom and dad, and genuinely felt my parents didn’t actually want to spank me. I’m biased I guess
