@DaveMasonDotMe@mastodon.social Same/similar boat, purposefully chose Arch to teach myself more of the internals. I've done Debian and Ubuntu, old school RedHat before but nothing stuck for daily use. (Some systems I admin sport Debian or Alpine as the base distro do I'm comfortable in there too). I've got my old gaming laptop with Windows 10 (no battery, destined to be converted into a CyberDeck or FrankenServer fit into an old FortiGate rack mount chassis I've got (don't ask 🦝🤭) I had been booting from a M2 USB drive enclosure to Arch, but... I instead put that drive into... The Fancy-ish laptop I'd gotten for a BYOD gig that didn't with out. So now it technically still has windows 11 on its initial SSD, but again Arch now as its primary OS. Hybrid Graphics are generally a pain in the butt. Yet working. The surprise was that the built in fingerprint with device worked without much effort at all. It's weird having sudo ask me for my finger ¯_(ツ)_/¯
