im almost five months out from my procedure and arousal is sort of coalescing into a distinct sensation. there's two interesting things about this.
the first interesting thing is that it's a new sensation. going into vaginoplasty, i expected my results to be, essentially, the same sensations displaced into their proper positions. after all, it's the same bits of skin, just rearranged. so they should feel the same, just rearranged, right?
this is not apparently the case.

while there are some similarities—blood vessels engorging are still blood vessels engorging, after all—the sensation feels pretty profoundly different. not rearranged like deck chairs, but rearranged like music. the whole is more than the sum of the parts. and the whole is... kind of amazing, if we're being honest. which brings me to the second interesting thing: arousal is pleasurable, now. and the funny thing here is that I thought it already was, but, again, apparently not. …
