  • @avuko@infosec.exchange the dent might not be that small, at least in the metropole. When the Great Depression started, we had pretty significant industrial capacity. Decades' worth of shipping that to "low cost regions" has left us with rusting hulks and few who even remember how to do industrial labor, the type that could possibly help us recover. Our position in world finance is incredibly precarious, based as it largely is on the petrodollar convention, which is also eroding.
