We're now at home.
But not after a fun time at Le Shuttle in Calais.
We got there early in the hope that we might be able to get on an earlier train. We managed to book onto one 30 minutes earlier, so that was fine. And then we noticed there were lots of delays. Again, not too bad.
We waited a while, and then got through the border checks, French and British – with the British one taking ages.
We knew that we'd eventually get on. We were following other cars to get on to one of the trains, when it became full.
We ended up following an official car to the end of the platform, up, and then round again to where we started.
But then the official car went down to the platform again, and so, we six cars continued following. The official car stopped, and turned around and sped off. So there we were stranded on the platform.
Another official car came, and we again, followed them up the off ramp, round on to another platform and back to where we originally started – for the second time.
By this time, another train was loading, and eventually we got on to that one.
Bit of a palaver, but we got back home anyway.
