Boo! I have a soundbar thingie that used to give me noise off the TV. I no longer own a TV device, so obvs wanted to use the soundbar for my laptop, but sadly said laptop has no 'optical' port. Sigh. I'm going to have to go Bluetooth, and unpair the existing speakers, being careful not to unpair my bloody phone and headphones, then try and get laptop to pair to device number 3, i.e. the soundbar. Anyone who is slightly less hot and stressed and probably a teensy bit less pissed than I am, (that bit will help!) who has a walk-through for such a challenging operation is welcome to chip in, else I'm just having a cool shower, popping a fresh tinnie, and reverting to the old desktop speakers, which actually work fine. Just not as nice a sound of course 🙂 Edited because stupid omission: Laptop is running Garuda Linux, which is pretty much Arch-based.
