Example: My son messages to apologise for not messaging in reply to me yesterday. He tells me my niece, who was expecting, had her second child two days ago, and supplies a photograph of new addition to family, taken by her mother - my sister.
My brain is already scrambled by being out of sync with my morning routines being spoiled, but now it is spiralling downwards.
'Why haven't they (they being the core Devon branch of my family. parents, brother, sister, niece and nephew) told me this news yet? Two days ago? What have I done to upset them? (apart from the whole not talking to Mum and Dad since they got too Daily Mail for me of course)'
Decide to wait and see how long it takes for someone on that side of the family to remember I still exist down here in Cornwall and would quite like to be up to date with family goings on but no one ever tells me anything.
Wondering if I've been shadow-banned.

If it comes to it, I am extremely capable of just not even pretending to participate in any kind of the remote family's (not that remote really, just figuratively distant perhaps) news, events and milestones etc., if only they wouldn't occasionally get a fit of the "Oh, must speak to our son/brother/uncle" and start talking to me about stuff they assume I know. "Who's that? When was that? You went where?" Makes me think I've gone senile at first, when it was probably just that no one has ever told me anything about this stuff before. I'm not fucking psychic. Time to stop typing. Gone into the red zone.
