@dgoosens@phpc.social Yip. And there will always be *someone* "in charge". Even if it doesn't start out that way, and despite the best of intentions at the outset, it is human nature to want to rule over other humans.
And that person will inevitably become corrupt, because power corrupts, has always corrupted, and will always corrupt. :(

I don't think this is human nature IMHO this is the nature of people who are addicted to power in essence, a democratic system ought to make sure those people are never in charge if citizens had more time to spend on thinking about these matters instead of having to worry about getting food on the table and to pay the bills, the power-addicted would definitely weigh much less on this keeping people miserable is the best way to keep them docile, no matter what ideology
