RE: https://tldr.nettime.org/@tante/116908308620011433 Though the DOJ clearly says that it would not prosecute this type of action, as it doesn't align with their objectives, this is a pretty clear violation of the CFAA (18 U.S.C. §§ 1030). It otherwise qualifies in every way as a federal crime. I'm not a big fan of laws but I do think it's worth noticing that some people end up in prison for decades doing shit like this while other people face no consequences at all. (Which, I guess, actually illustrates why I'm not a fan of laws.)
