Build the pipeline + they will come?
Bieler School of Environment, McGill University:
"In response to recent oil supply disruptions as a result of the conflicts in Ukraine and the Persian Gulf, many countries — particularly in Asia and Europe — reconsidered their over-reliance on fossil fuel imports and prioritized energy security by building out renewable energy infrastructure like wind and solar farms and turning to low-carbon solutions."

The latest edition of the Statistical Review of World Energy (July 2026) shows: "Renewables were the largest contributor to total global energy supply in 2025. China's approach, which includes an accelerated deployment of clean energy and stockpiling fossil fuels, reflects "a continued priority of self-sufficiency."" No confirmations or plans from Ottawa for Canada's energy self-sufficiency to date. 6/6 #CdnPoli #Climate #EnergySovereignty #Renewables https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/canada-energy-sovereignty-oil-climate-9.7265441
