@bleedingphoenix@wolfgirl.bar First of all popularity and success is shorthand for quality in most persons' mind, so it justifies their enjoyment. Second and more importantly most persons don't choose media for it's own sake, bit to relate to other persons. They want something they can talk about and make friends with. So they look for new things in what everyone else wants to talk about and they promote their existing favorites so they can talk to more persons about it.
