Right-wing people in my circles aren't only egotistical, but they also seem to not understand how anything works. Not the human body, not the economy, not ecology, no knowledge of history, and will even deny the existence of clearly spelled out laws even after being shown them. I'm not saying that one has to be devoid of knowledge and reasoning abilities to be right-wing, but there's definitely a strong correlation in the observed sample.
