I have to say, these make a fascinating pairing. I'm not sure what I expected from Ministry for the Future, but what is there is both fascinating in its own right, and very clearly something written a few crucial years ago. Dennis' book, meanwhile, is just a few years younger, and nonfiction rather than marketed as 'a novel' (though I think MotF is not adequately labelled as simply such), but clearly points at similar problems and solutions through the particular lens of the railway.
