@CptSuperlative@toot.cat @emilymbender@dair-community.social I remember a retiring academic in Edinburgh in the early nineties saying of the growing purchase of commissioned essays as a student practice, ‘I came here for more than this.’ AI can’t write anything as good as a commissioned essay and we definitely came here for more than this.
