When you see a Black person posting something about general about white people centering whiteness, and you jump on them because you, specifically, don’t think you are centering whiteness, then what you have done is literally center whiteness. Like, for real, right there, in the fucking moment.
Look, if a person is talking about a societal issue and you literally burst into the room and yelled “THIS IS ABOUT ME, SPECIFICALLY AND I TAKE EXCEPTION!!” then that is what you doing. The act itself is racist.
What you are doing is trying to remove the ability to talk about the structures of racism on the grounds that this one, single person, who the author doesn’t know and isn’t talking about, has feelings more important than Black folks lives.
There have been generations of writing on this. It’s not fucking hard. 🙄

@Damselfly@blackqueer.life I think we should normalize saying things like #NotAllMen or #NotAllWhitePeople or the like when people say good things about white people or men. Let them see how vapid that whole #NotAll... formulation is.
