People are saying that free software would be more popular if it had more UI designers involved. But there *are* lots of people trying to work on design in FOSS. They are just often really unappreciated here, because the audience that benefits from their work doesn't exist in our shared spaces. These people are out in the real world and have never heard of an "issue tracker" or "RFC" before.

I think GNOME is one of the very few exceptions to this pattern. And it gets a lot of flak for that, which arguably proves my point

@bragefuglseth@sunny.garden #gnome in is one of the few places where this is possible. if you venture a little bit out it's like wading through mud. it's exhausting...
