@BRicker@fosstodon.org @sophieschmieg@infosec.exchange What I remember is I think that Sophie made a point a while back about how she likes to confront born-again Christians about their views on the whole Nicene thing. I don't know enough about it, including why it might be a bit of a doctrinal hand grenade but I filed it away and your explanation sheds a bit more light on what she was talking about originally.

There are B.A. that aren't Nicene, and there are other, B.A. and otherwise, supposedly Nicene sects that don't elucidate the esoteric nuances for the plebes. (the original meaning of esoterica!) [ If you like this kind of nuance, I recommend the card game Credo!, which is like the Nuckear War card game, but for Ecumenical Councils, hersey&creed, and one counts souls saved not burned. ]
