@mdione@en.osm.town It’s the situation where the grid has to ask generators (mainly Scottish wind) to turn down or turn off their generation. They get paid to do that. It happens a lot now because the grid has bottlenecks where power can’t be delivered in sufficient quantity (eg between Scotland where there is excess and England where there is need). The producers get paid for what the grid can’t deliver. In the future the system will still sometimes have lots more generation than we can use.
