One of the things he did was to touch one of my young female scouts and take her photo(or pretend to). He wasn’t apparently trying to touch her in sexual way, but just touching her. He did other things, too. It wasn’t until my scouts were sitting at dinner and talking about this and some of the older boys who hadn’t been there pointed out that this was not ok. “No one should touch you without your consent!”

They helped her think about it from a different perspective, how even if this was fairly innocent, what if it wasn’t? What would she do, what would they have done. Then the scouts who were on the bus together, who saw what happened, who took some action then, decided they should let an adult know, and went themselves to the camp director to report it, not so much to get the other scout in trouble, but so a staffer could talk about why his actions were a problem and teach about consent. 3/4
