I was 13 when section 28 was introduced, just realising I might be gay. I was surrounded by the narrative that lesbians were a threat to little girls. That our female PE teachers were a threat to us in the changing rooms for being muscular with short hair. That if I liked girls I was perverted and evil.
I hid in the closest until I was 42. So much internal homophobia to deal with and so much wasted time trying to make it work with men 😬

@JaxVent@lgbtqia.space but I didn't realise I was non-binary trans til I was 51. I really think that's also a lot to do with the poison of Section 28. I didn't know being non-binary was even an option?
