I was surrounded by the narrative that lesbians were a threat to little girls. That our female PE teachers were a threat to us in the changing rooms for being muscular with short hair. That if I liked girls I was perverted and evil. I hid in the closest until I was 42. So much internal homophobia to deal with and so much wasted time trying to make it work with men 😬
