When the heat dome collapsed, we got only 0.2” of rain (while there was flooding 70 miles to the north). Yesterday’s rain failed to materialize. Now, no rain in the 10-day forecast.
Fortunately, our clay soil has a lot of water storage capacity, and the garden’s been mulched to preserve water. So, the soggy conditions of a month ago can now be blessing.

@donray@mastodon.online Recent heavy rains have been missing us too. Which is okay considering how much damage the included high winds caused... Two buckets a day and possibly four in days to come... is nothing compared to gardens in years past that needed eight of those 5 gallon buckets😆 I have some plastic rings around the plants, maybe 5 inches tall. So I can just dump the water and it doesn't spread out all over the place...
