CRAZY IDEA #1: An international *Secret Server* community! What if we hosted mini-servers with friends from countries that respect data privacy? Eg. I send my Secret Server to Ingel in Iceland. He hides it in his home and connects it to wi-fi then leaves it. This private, tamper-proof server hosts eg. webmail, website server, safe chat, file hosting, AI etc I agree to update and maintain the mini-sever. As a variation on this, I'm sure lots of people have "spare" mini servers and stuff like Raspberry Pi boards lying around unused. Instead of someone sending a server, people could share out access to friends. There are all sorts of problems around trust, though, unfortunately, as well as potential liability. It seems like it could work well between friends, who can agree what's acceptable and not and who can keep each other honest, but it seems like it would be hard to scale without attracting griefers and other bad eggs. Still, interesting concept to think about...
