Should billionaires, as a concept, be allowed to exist?
#EndBillionaires
(To be clear, I mean "should a single person be allowed to have a personal wealth of $1B USD or more", not "should we actually literally kill them" or anything like that.)
I'm genuinely curious if anyone who answers yes can convince me I'm wrong. Or if I can convince you you're wrong. Genuine discussion welcome!
I'll post some of my thoughts / answers to arguments I've heard in replies.

To me the fundamental question has to be: what benefit to society does it provide for an individual to have that much wealth? I have not yet found an answer that convinces me there is any.

(I suspect my circles here will make this somewhat of an echo chamber, I know my audience / people I follow, but seriously, I am open to legitimate discussion/debate from anyone in the "Yes" camp. Boosts welcome, especially from those on the other side of the issue.)

@tim@union.place Why only billionaires? The threshold seems to me to be quite arbitrary. Why not millionaires? It would be more practical as it would reach more people and social changes would be better visible.
