I'm still wondering about the CSM parts maybe, but it is a little strange that it ignores the VGA output switch, I'm wondering if there are any logs on it somehow. Considering it's a workstation board it's also worth seeing if you can contact Asus support on it directly, they're pretty complicated pieces of kit so there might just be a specific incompatibility going on or some firmware bug that they're working on.
