@pettter@social.accum.se that’s what I just showed you that no, AC is in fact 90% the same when it comes to “heating up the city” as passive methods.
Conservation of energy also applies to passive methods, every single W of energy not entering a building heats up the streets and other buildings in the area.
And if you really want to focus on the last 10% additional energy it takes to run heat pumps…then we really have to talk about all other main electricity and fuel uses in a city as well.

@szbalint@mastodon.social this is also inaccurate, since certain passive methods absorb, redirect, or reflect that energy in ways ACs don't.
