@Gaolaitch@cupoftea.social People don’t like shoplifters, but are okay with stealing from their own company. Genuinely, how does that work? It only works if you put the spin on it of ‘it’s different for me, I can take what I like to benefit myself’, by making themselves an exception to a rule they broadly agree with. None of this do unto others stuff, just lemme get mine and pull up the ladder, it’s everyone else who’s the wrong’un. TLDR: I don’t understand (some) people.

  • @Gaolaitch@cupoftea.social I think I know the root of my irk. It’s the duality, I struggle with that. My brain fizzes when people present themselves (self-certified) as ‘good’ but show actions of ‘bad’. I once met a person who said she believed she lit up a room when she walked in. It took all of my strength to not knee-jerk a rebuttal. Honestly, the world would be so much more straightforward if the bad ones just said so out loud. No subterfuge, no pretending, and I’d respect them way more.
