@pozorvlak@mathstodon.xyz @mjd@mathstodon.xyz it’s not really clear why whales should have external ear holes at all anymore. I think the book covers this somewhat. Whales hear primarily through bone conduction.

@bth@infosec.exchange @pozorvlak@mathstodon.xyz Yeah, Claude says my theory is no good at all, for several reasons, one of them being that whales don 't have external ear holes anyway, and another being that they don't expel earwax, it just accumulates for their entire lifetime. I haven't checked yet if any of this is true.
